Straighten up: Your guide to elevated mind body consciousness
Join us for a workshop devoted to the holistic integration of mind-body intelligence designed to take your practice to an optimized level.
Many of us have felt the expression of yoga poses as something we are trying to “get through”. Kind of like taking our medicine, we strike a pose and maintain it, resulting in something that is lifeless and lacks growth. Why simply hold a pose when you could be growing a pose? This class will give you tools on how to map out and create actual physical support and strength in your practice. You will learn how to experience your yoga poses and how to become a ‘life- bringer’ as opposed to a clinger of anticipation by ‘holding’ the pose and resisting experience.
In this class we will dive into the fundamentals of fascial tissues, how to move in a way that promotes fascial health and integrates movement in a positive way that builds healthy patterns that will extend beyond the reaches of the mat.
Applying your knowledge of the fascial body will guide you into a better understanding of the physical asana practice. We will take your newfound knowledge to the next level by applying it to the layers of a unique practice designed to heighten your physical awareness.
We will help you to understand how to first lengthen and then strengthen your physical body from the inside out using a simple breakdown of how to not only hold your physical body but also how to carry it from pose to pose both on and off your mat so that you can incorporate this method into your other daily activities as well.
We will also be demonstrating new and exciting ways of incorporating yoga blocks into your practice. Typically yoga blocks are viewed as a crutch or modification in practice – but these techniques allow you to experience advanced levels of depth.
